what time is it? August 30, 2008 The band broke after one week. The watch won't stay wound more than 16 hours if not worn. It is one of those "self-winding" types. I can't recommend this product at all.
Great watch and winder for the price August 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Evidently some folks had problems with this watch. I certainly did not. It looks about as you'd expect, not a Rolex, but quite nice. I've had mine for around 6 months or so and it shows no signs of wear beyond some scuffing at the clasp, but nothing of real note. It keeps solid time, feels nicely heavy on the wrist, looks great. I have a number of automatic watches and the Croton is as reliable as the more expensive brands. And, you get a winder with it. I've never understood winders as a concept, but if you look at the price of winders, you'll find that you are paying for the winder and getting a great little watch thrown in free. Not a bad deal at all.
Good Watch for the Price July 23, 2008 I like the watch it was a good price for an automatic and winder. My only problem was the rotating bezel was hard to move and would get stuck at times. I oiled the bezel and it freed up. the winder is nice but will not stop winding you have to stop it or it could damage your watch.
Great watch. June 27, 2008 Purchased June '08. Heavier than I expected. Looks great. The winder I received is silent. Not that I actually plan on using the winder, this is currently my only watch (except for the cell phone naturally!)
I had no clue you could put so many plastic overlays on something this size. I thought I got them all, but one week after wearing, another protective plastic sheet starting coming off.
Easy to set, although the instructions were backwards on which position to use to set the date and time, but I didn't realize that until after I had already set the watch and actually read the instructions. Hardly a deal breaker.
When I go to bed, the dial lights up enough to be readable. I have no idea how long it lasts.
Pieces of the face fall off, watch stops after one day of non-use June 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This watch looked really nice when I saw it but I have to say I'm not impressed. The "12" at the top of the watch has fallen off and now rolls around inside where it can obstruct the hands. The faux diamond on top came off and the blue face scratches easily. The most irritating thing is that if you don't tend to wear your watch on the weekend, you have to rewind your watch on Monday. I'm not using that winder that came with it because it is difficult to use and it takes a lot of energy compared to the little button batteries that other watches can run on for multiple years. I'm not saying automatic movements are bad but you might consider going for a traditional battery-powered model or spend the extra money for a solar model.
