The sound quality is as good or better than my old cord headphones. I should have bought these months ago.
Cordless private listening for TV, and video games, but music.... December 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System is at its best with the transmitter facing toward the listener at moderate or low earphone volumes. Late-night TV watchers might find these perfect. Music produced through the headphones is a little thin, and there remains a constant hiss throughout the optimum listening range out to about 12-15 feet. Even though the unit claims 24 feet as the maximum distance, in most real world situations clear reception at that range is unlikely. The earphones themselves are not of the most sturdy construction, but would likely serve well over a long period of time if cared for properly.
If these are being considered for TV watching, the transmitter could be placed near the TV, and the headphone receivers would face forward during their use. That seems the best configuration. I would have to recommend against their use strictly for high fidelty audio, as other more expensive units might provide a much better quality audio signal. But you can't beat cordless headphones in certain situations.

Best System I Have Found December 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Besides occasionally coming home to watch some TV after my wife is in bed, I have had some trouble understanding the dialogue on TV broadcasts because our set has those 2-cent speakers that manufacturers like to install. This Sony headphone system completely corrects the problem. It works wonderfully, allows you to turn off the set's speakers, is in hi-fi and stereo, does not pick up the buzz from other electronic devices being used nearby, and is of much better quality at a lower price than those TV Ears you see advertised. I've purchased two, one for me and one as a gift. I highly recommend them if you have the same needs.
SONY Wireless Headphones Solve Problem November 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System has made it possible for me to enjoy DVDs and our DVR with a normal sound setting while the mute button is pushed to keep the house quiet for sleeping family members. For years I have had to regulate the sounds to avoid disturbing others. What a difference! It was worth the expense and easy to install by myself. Great product.
