Will listen to this for years to come! September 10, 2008 This is the best female artist cd that I have had in a long time. Keyshia is at her best here. The whole cd is about the hurt that she has been through and I love every story. I cant believe M. Debraux's reveiw. Apparently he/she is just hating on Keyshia. Although I agree with J. Highsmith in saying that I hope her next cd will tell of some good things happening in her life, this one is the finest expression of heartbreak that I have ever heard. And SO WHAT if Keyshia made a whole cd about her broken heart...Mary J. has made a career of cd's about her broken heart. Now as much as I love Mary, she is definately one who needs to "Let It Go".
Worth it September 9, 2008 Great cd- every song is a hit. She did a good job on this cd.
Excellent!!!! September 2, 2008 Love this CD. It's hard to find a album that you can listen to the whole way through. This cd has that...I can listen to all the songs on this cd over and over again. My favorite songs is: THE ENTIRE CD!!! Would recommend to anyone!

Keyshia Cole - Just Like You (Geffen, 2007)
When Keyshia Cole stepped on the scene with The Way It Is in 2005, people already started comparing her to Mary J. Blige. Why every single R&B songstress who throws a little hip-hop and some cuss words into the mix get compared to Mary is anyone's guess but I know one thing: the comparisons certainly won't stop with Cole's latest effort, Just Like You. (Surprisingly, Cole's now on the same label as Mary.)
You have Mary's knack for singing over a sample on the lead single, "Let it Go" (featuring Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim). I tried to hate this song because of the use of the played-out "Juicy Fruit" sample but it's too damn catchy. Also, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins produced Keyshia's second single, "Shoulda Let You Go", the same way that he produced Mary's "Enough Cryin", her second single from The Breakthrough. I could keep going on and on with the comparisons (including the way she sings "la-dee-dah-da-dah" during "Give Me More", reminiscent of Mary on 1994's "My Life"), but it's more important to note that Keyshia is still a great singer in her own right.
"I Remember", "Got to Get My Heart Back", "Heaven Sent" and "Fallin' Out" are all worthy tracks to be on constant repeat. But the material can get very dreary. Simply put, if you're a lady and you just broke up with your man, don't listen to this album while you're alone in your room drinking or else you may hurt yourself. If you can't tell with some of the song titles I mentioned, this isn't exactly India.Arie music. Even the chart-topping Diddy duet, "Last Night", which was a no-brainer to put on this album, is about heartbreak.
But it doesn't matter what Keyshia may sing about or from whom she may have been influenced. She's got the voice and the image to be liked by girls and considered by guys to be a down-a** chick. If you're down with that, then Just Like You is just for you. -EJR
finest R&B July 25, 2008 keyshia has made a very hot R&B album which includes the R&B #1's "Let It Go", "I Remember" and the still #1 "Heaven Sent" and the rest of the tracks are just as hot!
