Yao Ming is brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. He was born September 12, 1980, in Shanghai, China, and is a Chinese professional basketball player - arguably the best center in the National Basketball Association (NBA) today. He is also among the tallest of players in the NBA standing at a height of 7'6". He played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for five years, and now plays center (Number 11 - hence the insignia on the dial) for the Houston Rockets in the NBA. He was selected by Houston as the 1st overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft and signed with them on October 21, 2002.

Among the special touches aimed at honoring the great Yao, the number 11 is featured in large, red Arabic numerals, the only number on the dial. Then there is, of course, his signature, along with a small basketball and his name, printed, at the six o'clock position. The crown also has a small 11 printed into it. Beyond being a tribute to one of the NBA's greatest centers, this timepiece from Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer definitely stands out as a remarkable watch. The 39-millimeter stainless steel case of the Aquaracer watch features a black dial with the aforementioned Yao celebration, along with a date calendar and illuminated hands and indexes. The watch has a stainless steel bezel with indexes and Arabic numerals indicating minutes. In addition, the watch is water resistant to a remarkable 1,000 feet. The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire and the watch uses quartz movement.
