Amazon.com Product Description Invicta demonstrates its flair for rugged style with this handsome multi-function watch in high performance stainless steel. The sharp-looking metallic yellow dial features bold luminous hands, a sweep seconds hand, and sleek silvertone Roman numerals as well as three round subdials that display the day, date, and 24-hour time. Military time is also displayed on the black inner bezel for added convenience. The 38 mm round steel case is presented on a handsome and durable brick link steel bracelet. An impressive piece of hardware that travels anywhere in style, this Invicta watch offers quartz precision and water resistance to 50 meters. About Invicta For well over a century-and-a-half, Invicta (the name is Latin for "invincible"), has been producing fine quality Swiss timepieces and making them available at a surprisingly affordable cost. The company traces its roots to the small Swiss village of La Chaux-de-Fonds where, in 1837, founder Raphael Picard began turning out modestly-priced pieces of exceptional quality, and found himself competing successfully with higher-priced Swiss watchmaking giants. Invicta's reputation grew steadily over the years. The company nearly faded from view in the early 1970s, when the new quartz watches were all the rage, but descendants of the Invicta family reestablished the brand in 1991, and its popularity among watch collectors flourished. True to its roots, Invicta continues to create beautifully designed and expertly crafted watches, using Swiss-made movements and high-quality materials like anti-reflective sapphire crystals. Among Invicta's innovations are the first combination platinum and 18 karat gold watch ever produced and a limited edition Subaqua Noma watch featuring a genuine meteorite stone dial. With a diverse collection ranging from its elegant Vintage 1948 and Objet d'Art watches to its high-performance Pro Diver series, Invicta continues to prove its reputation as an invincible player among fine Swiss watchmakers.

Band broke first time it was opened. Small pin came out of hole. Pressed buttons in to release to open band and pin came out. December 27, 2008 I purchased yellow dial watch for a Christmas present for my brother. The watch came in a big yellow box with cleaning cloth and looked wonderful. My brother handed it back to me after he put it on and said the band will not latch. We checked and the little pin had come out of the band. He said he pressed the buttons to open it. I read the warranty and it said band not covered. Cheap design for a band. Beatiful watch for the storage container. Be careful unlatching the band if you buy one. I actually bought two but the other one is a little different and only has a button on one side of the band to release it. It has not broken yet.
Watch December 24, 2008 Dial is hard to read and the watch did not keep time I returned it.
Beautiful watch. July 19, 2008 I really don't know why many reviewers just smashed this watch.
Keep this in mind: It is a yellow watch!! If you don't like colours that stand out, stay away from this model. Other than that, it's a nice watch for the summer time. I ordered the watch before reading the reviews, and after I had purchased it, I went through them... so I guess I lowered my expectations. However, as I opened the box, I was in fact surprised with the watch: it is a very beautiful one. It is not a watch to go to the office and meet with your boss, but for sure it's a watch that will please you whenever you are out at the beach or on vacation. I just received it yesterday and I have got many compliments already.
One of the things I like the most: it is not as massive and huge as the other invictas. It is very casual, and at the same time a little elegant. I liked a lot.
My major complain: How the heck did they come up with a watch which date cannot be adjusted between 22:00 and 6:00???!?!!?! I though Invicta was a brand that prided itself of making high-quality timepieces. This is just unacceptable, and that's the only reason why I cannot allow myself to give 5 stars to this watch. Shame on you Invicta!!
Nevertheless, I disagree that the instructions are bad... in addition to the generic instruction booklet, Invicta provides the buyers with an additional booklet specific for this calibre. I ALWAYS read the whole manual of EVERYTHING before I even think on turning it on, so I got it how to set up and avoid possible damages.
In conclusion, it is a watch that stands out, and it is a watch that's been sold for under $100 (the $475 retail price is a joke), so don't expect the same quality of a $1,000 Invicta on this guy.
Outstanding Watch June 21, 2008 This is a great deal!! The watch compliments any wardrobe and I have recieved endless comments on it's appearance.
Invicta Men's II Collection Watch - Very Yellow, And Not A True Invicta - Stay Away!!!! May 12, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Simply put the Invicta Men's II Collection Silver-Tone Yellow Dial Watch #4243 is a very sub-par watch even at the current selling price. Now I'm going to tell you how I really feel about it.
I go to great lengths to give manufacturers the benefit of the doubt. Still, there is almost nothing redeeming about this watch. I almost gave this 2 stars, but I just couldn't live with the chance of somebody thinking "2 stars aint so bad" and buying this without really thinking it over.
The Invicta brand has too many different levels of quality within different watch families made in different countries. This is not the same "Invicta" as the better made models.
While I am not a professional watch maker by any means, I actually do know a little bit about watches. Yet still, I actually did part with my own hard earned cash to purchase this watch. Even New York kids get fooled by a shell game once in a while, and for that I deserve to be flogged and laughed at. "Thank you sir, may I have another!"
There are a few things that are clear to me after being fooled into buying this watch. 1. There is no way anybody in their right mind could have ever thought this watch was worth the $475 list price. This is clearly bait and switch pricing by Invicta. Pure deception. 2. A lot of people really love brand names. Why else would so many people think this was a great deal at the price of $70 to $100? This is not the same quality of the higher-end hand assembled Invicta watches. 3. Pictures lie. The yellow face of this watch looks cheap to me. It does stand out and could be considered distinctive by some I suppose. But I've bought better looking watches for $5 in chinatown. I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. 4. Check your shipment before your return period ends! I bought a lot from Amazon that month, and I was too busy to check this till it was too late. If not, it would have went right back to Amazon and I would have never used it or reviewed it. The looks alone would have sent me packing. 5. People have too much money. Please cross-reference this with point number 2. If you're looking to part with $70 to $100 and get very little in return, just send me the money. Heck, send me less if you want. This is one of the few purchases I made on Amazon that made me feel bad inside. 6. Quartz truly is underrated. I would have gladly bought 3 or 4 low end Timex watches instead of this. Sure it looks ok, it's got a stainless steel band. But it still feels like a rip-off with everything taken into account. See below.
Sorry, I don't like to criticize this much. I normally won't review products unless I have a decent amount of pros and cons to list. But with this watch, it's almost all cons. It's sad to think that those who don't know much about watches will buy this because it has a known brand name stamped on it and is priced to move. I guess that would be me too so feel free to smack me once more. "Thank you sir, may I have another!"
I would never get close to water with this watch, I don't care what the water resistance rating is. I'm surprised my wrist didn't turn green just from wearing this.
Now to be fair, there are a couple of positives. Yes, this guy does have a decent body casing and steel band. Yes the price is low for an "Invicta" if brands matter to you. And yes, to some people it does have an eye-catching look. Once again, I think it looks cheap, but that's just me. I'm trying to be open minded here.
But in the end, we buy watches to tell time. Good looks are nice, but utility is better. And this guy performs like this model should be marked down or discontinued. Don't even ask about the extra functions. Basic time telling is unreliable.
I'm sure that after this review, the price will have to be marked down further. And that's a good thing too, because even giving this away might be difficult. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have done so much overtime last year and I would have opened and thus returned this in time for a refund. Now I have a $80 paperweight that I can not imagine I will ever wear in public.
Let my loss be your gain. Please stay away from this model, including the other colors it comes in. There are better "flashy watches" that look similar for less money. Or you can get a Seiko for a little bit more that actually is well made, looks good and will last you a lot longer. Oh and even better, it will actually keep time for you as well.
Please find a better way to part with your money.
Good luck.
