Album Description Import double vinyl LP pressing of The Eagles' chart-topping 2007 reunion album. Universal.
Amazon.com What a long, strange wait it's been. Don Felder has left, a generation has grown into adulthood, and at long last, Eagles return with a new studio album, their first since 1979's The Long Run. Given the interim, though, fans couldn't possibly have asked for more. The two-disc, 20-track Long Road Out of Eden not only retains the entire menu of the Eagles' staple sounds--effortless, multi-part harmonies; colorful, if not intricate, guitar embellishment; meticulously crafted songwriting; squeaky-clean, almost geriatric production--but many of these songs also viscerally recall past hits from Eagles' or the extant members' solo records. Like revenant doubles, "Frail Grasp on the Big Picture" echoes "Life in the Fast Lane," "How Long" channels "Take It Easy," the guitar arpeggio threading through "Center of the Universe" hints at the ubiquitous "Hotel California," and "Business As Usual" could have been culled from the cutting room floor from Don Henley's The End of the Innocence. The effect of all this familiarity is one of masterfully crafted self-tribute with one eye riveted on posterity, calculated to please both the deep-pocketed who can still afford the Eagles' concerts and those who'd given up on ever hearing new material again. --Jason Kirk

import cd's Long road out of Eden by The Eagles January 6, 2009 I never received this product as promised. I had to ask for a refund a week after the promised delivery date. I did receive this refund promptly. I was very dissappointed as other items purchased were received as promised. I won't purchase CD's from Amazon in the future.
Hoped for better January 6, 2009 They said they waited till it was just the way they wanted. It not what I was hoping for especially given there are 2 CDs. If I see them in concert, I hope they skip this entire CD.
The Long Road Out of Eden - the Eagles January 6, 2009 I was very disappointed about this purchase. I had been browsing and didn't realize i had actually ordered it. When I saw what had happeded I immediately tried to cancel - I was not allowed to. Then to add insult to injury the cover was partly in Spanish. Not every one who lives in South Florida is Latin. So - from now on I will order only from Barnes and Noble. Phyllis
The Eagles evolved December 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an Eagles fan from long ago. I'm enjoying this CD. It's nice to see that they have evolved and write lyrics to reflect on who they've become, not who they used to be.
Cool, mellow but still good old eagles December 22, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
More of a blues twist compared to eagles older music but still a must buy for eagles fans especially the older generation./
