 Very good utilitarian watch January 7, 2009
I like this watch because I don't wear glasses to bed, and when I wake up in the dark, I can see the time. If I have any complaint, it is that the second hand is in gold not black.

Just received this watch today from Amazon and let me say that I am very picky about watches and bought this watch for 2 reasons:
Bought this because TIMEX watch is my favorite brand, and it lasts and lasts! I am going from past experiences both windup Timex watches and also Quartz Timex watches. I still have a 1985 Quartz that is still going, no light in this one this is why I bought this watch and also because it is an EASY READER! The only this I did not like when I first received the watch is the BROWN WATCHBAND, it is of great quality leather, but I had a new BLACK LEATHER WATCHBAND put on the watch and it looks much better!
PROS:
1) Easy reader feature--this watch is very easy to read yet it is small enough to be feminine as I am girly girly!
2) Great simple design, just right for any occasion from everyday to dressy watch!
3) Best of all, the light as I need to see the time at night and in dimly lit areas.
4) Second hand, great feature
5) Water-resistant, however, I will take it off when I shower just to be on the safe side after reading the other reviews.
CONS:
1) As I said earlier, I did not like the brown watchband so for $8 I had it quickly replaced with a black leather band, and it looks very rich and classy! However, I must point out that I also had a very nice gold metal band that SHOULD have fit the watch, it would not! The jeweler told me that the only bands that would fit on this watch are leather bands, so keep this in mind before you buy this watch. This was a big disappoint to me, however, it looks so nice with the new leather band that I gave it a 5 anyway. Again, note that this watch will only accept a leather band (if you choose to replace the band). The reason a metal band did not fit this watch is because it has to be rounded at the top to fit. *Note that the older Timex watches, you could replace the band with a metal band or a leather band. Would I buy this watch again? Yes for 2 reasons: THE LIGHT feature and the EASY READER FEATURE, for those reasons, and I will enjoy this watch with my new BLACK LEATHER WATCHBAND!
**UPDATE: Jan 2, 2009: Found an old Timex with an original Timex gold watchband and had a jeweler place it on this watch and it works. It did take him a few minutes to do this, however, the watch looks great now. I love this watch, just did not like the brown leather band with it. With the goldtone metal band, this watch looks so great and so dressy!

I really like the Easy Reader line of Timex watches. It has an easy to read dial, plus I like the simplistic design with the indiglo and date feature. It's also a great casual watch to wear everyday. In general, I like the styles that Timex comes out with. In addition to the Easy Reader watch I also have an Ironman watch that keeps accurate time and looks good too.

This item is nice. I think the face is a little to large but other than that it is ok. Nothing special.
The band is not leather but some type of plastic material.
