4 out of 5 stars works fine, watch the arrows on your band though   November 16, 2008
You need to push the pins out in the same direction as the arrows on your watchband. Also, don't go in really far or you'll snap the pushpin off.It worked great though. Might as well get it when you buy a watch off of here. Then when your watch arrives you can adjust the band yourself.

5 out of 5 stars This is a specialized tool and well worth the price.   October 30, 2008
I needed this for a Seiko watch and it worked unlike the paperclip method I tried. You might need this depending on your watch type. Just remember to push the pin out in the direction of the arrow. I did it in mid-air with my left hand holding the watch down onto it and my right hand turning the dial to screw the pin. The pin from my watch band came out easily because it was mostly straight except for the opposite end which had the forks. To put it back in, I just had to reinsert it back into the clasp (in the reverse direction it came out) and press it down on a hard surface to get the forked end to disappear completely into the hole. If your watch has different pin types, then you might need to use this device to reinsert as well. Watch band was resized with no scratches!

5 out of 5 stars heavey duty   October 21, 2008
this is a very heavy duty tool some of the other tool like this are very thin & you use them once or twice & they break this one will last a lifetime very very good product. I'm glad I bought this item.

2 out of 5 stars Overkill for simple pin removal; doesn't work for all watch bands.   October 6, 2008
Item was well made and is indeed capable of compressing a watch pin to allow adjustment. However, I also tried a roller tip pen tip to compress the spring pin and found it was easier and faster to use. At least on my watch, the major adjustment in band length is not through moving the pin a notch or two, but rather in removing (or adding) links to the band. This adjustment requires a completely different tool to bend open and then close the adjustable steel links.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to Use, Cheap, Time Saving   September 28, 2008
This watch band remover is durable and easy-to-use.

Just follow the arrows when you are pushing the pins out (the pins come out in the direction of the arrow and are placed back in the opposite way), and line up the watch band to where the band is 90 degrees from the tool point.

I didn't use any directions and didn't need practicing as some fellow reviewers had said and I didn't break any pins. I think my mom could handle this with ease, and she's not that mechanically inclined.

I've adjusted my family and friends' watches and this thing has paid for itself several times over. Plus, you save yourself a trip to the mall or to a jewelry store and lots and lots of time.

The seller shipped it in a very timely fashion.
