A Simple Invention That Is Quite Useful August 26, 2008 Simple but quite useful product.
I have a UPS and a few powerstrips in the house. They are great by providing more outlets. But with all the power adapters that runs most of the gadgets today, even one of those power adapters can cover 2 to 3 outlets which defeats the purpose of having a powerstrip. The liberator solves that problem.
Also, some power adapters can be huge and heavy that its weight alone tends to loosen it from the wall, the liberator serves as a little extension to prevent it from loosening up. Loose connections are dangerous, it can produce sparks that not only can ruin your equipments but can even starts a fire. Countertop receptacles can also be problematic where they are awkwardly situated sideways.
I DID NOT ORDER THIS ITEM July 1, 2008 I DID NOT ORDER THIS ITEM BUT WILL KEEP IT ANYWAY, TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO SEND BACK FOR A REFUND.
Perfect companion January 30, 2008 This is the perfect companion to the charging valet. There is never enough room to plug in chargers that have big heads. This work perfectly to set up your chargers.
VERY BAD: neutral and hot sides are reversed! December 5, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Be careful: This product has the 'neutral' and the 'hot' sides reversed. Meaning, the receptacle is NOT following the spec of a normal wiring. This could be very dangerous depending on what you use this with.
DEFECTIVE! MISWIRED! SAFETY HAZARD! May 26, 2007 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I bought four Y adapters from this seller, two of this ASIN (B000234UFG) and two of ASIN B000FPQO9Q. The four adapters are identical in appearance and have the same defect (described below), so the seller in my case definitely used a common make & model to fulfill orders for both ASIN's.
All four Y adapters are consistently miswired: Each connects the plug's HOT blade to the receptacles' NEUTRAL slots and the plug's NEUTRAL blade to the receptacles' HOT slot. This presents a genuine, 2nd-order safety hazard.
I discovered the defect on the first of the four adapters the hard way: by getting shocked! For the other three, I used a test meter to confirm that they were likewise miswired.
