Better than what came with the iMac December 2, 2008 The keyboard is terrific. It is much easier to use than the flat steel keyboard that came with my iMac. The mouse is just OK. It tends to do it's own thing rather than move the way I would like. It too is better than the mouse that came with the iMac. The mouse is not as good as the G7 I had with my PC.
Plug-n-play November 26, 2008 I just switched from a PC to a Mac, so I wanted a full-size keyboard w/number pad, a forward delete key, and a mouse with a right click. This package seemed the most reasonably priced and had good reviews, so I bought it.
It worked right out of the box with no need to install any drivers or anything. I put in the batteries, hit the "sync" button, and it just worked. Keyboard has a good "feel" to it, and the hot-keys all seem to work well.
I installed BootCamp and Windows Vista 64 bit, and it works just as well on the PC side of my Apple MacBook Pro.
I would definitely recommend it.
Easy and efficient November 10, 2008 This product has solved my ergonomic needs better than anything I have had at a business or home office for the past 3 years! With it I was able to convert a "pre-computer age" desk to a very efficient workstation. Also, really important to me was the ease of installation. The directions were easy to follow and all workings are intuitive--even for a nontechy like me.
Great keyboard. Good mouse. November 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Received the S530 keyboard and mouse set for Mac yesterday and started using it right away. I have had several keyboards and mice from Logitech, and my last was an LX710 mouse and keyboard set for my Dell, so I am familiar with Logitech's desktop accessories, but this was the first for a Mac.
I initially thought the white-ness of the keyboard and mouse (in the pics) would be cheesy when paired with my new aluminum Macbook, but it actually looks decent in real life with the silver accents that match the new Macbook. My LX710 keyboard required the front of the keyboard to be raised for a comfortable position, but due to the design of the wrist wrest on this keyboard, I felt fine typing without raising the front (there are little legs that fold out if you still want to raise it though). The keys felt as familiar as any other Logitech keyboard I have had, which is a plus. I have not used the extra buttons yet, and I usually don't so i'm glad they're integrated into the sides without taking up much space.
The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the mouse. The mouse is decent, but does not feel as "substantial" as the mouse on the LX710. It's shaped a little more ergonomically, although I can't use it with my left hand (I'm right handed, but switch which hands use the mouse depending on what i'm doing) because of the shape. The scroll wheel felt "cheap" when scrolled because it made a "hallow" sound when scrolling instead of just feeling the detents as the wheel turned. The mouse itself felt very hallow, probably due to its size/shape which unnecessarily makes it bigger than needed to house all the parts. I'm comparing this mouse to both my previous LX710 mouse as well as a Mighty Mouse I have for my Mac Server. The highlights of this mouse though is that you can customize the back/forward buttons as well as the 3 sound control buttons for other functions on a Mac. I feel that it's not quite as responsive as my LX710 was in Vista, but it'll do (considering the Mighty Mouse doesn't have a back/forward button).
The USB receiver piece is standard Logitech, meaning it doesn't match the rest of the set because it's the dark-blue plastic one...no big deal since this is plugged into a USB hub behind my monitor anyway.
Overall, this product is a good replacement for the overpriced Mac wireless accessories (the Apple cordless keyboard doesn't have a numberpad...which I need, otherwise I'd just type on the laptop keyboard! The Mighty Mouse is nice but could use at least back/forward buttons!). The only real negative that I can give to this keyboard/mouse set is lack of bluetooth. I know it would probably be more expensive than it is, but I would gladly pay a little more for bluetooth support.
Best keyboard for MAC ! October 13, 2008 Very nice keyboard and mouse, especially the mouse. Works great with MAC, except one thing that the brightness adjustment button does NOT work. I dont know why. There's no driver for this if you use Windows on a MAC.
