I am really into doing simulations in social studies, it adds that element of bringing history to life.
I was extra surprised by this book when it arrived because not only does it have a game style to history, but is a complete set having students build background knowledge before each session, develop a character, relive history, analyze primary source documents all the while journaling their experiences and holding class debates based on the scenarios.
I wish I could use it with my younger classes also because it seems like so much fun, but I think the 5th plus grade estimate is appropriate.
