Does NOT work as promised with Mac December 24, 2008 Works well with PC programs running via Parallels, but does not work as required with Mac (i.e., in Word and Excel, inputting any numbers functions as a backspace - you see the number for a second then it auto erases it by backspacing, taking the number you've input and any addition surrounding type away). I will be returning this item. And since there are no drivers to download, you're stuck with what it is... only good for PC.
Toshiba Numeric Keypad for MAC December 23, 2008 Amazon lists the product as MAC-compatible but there are no instructions for its use with a MAC with the product. In fact it only works with MAc if you depress NumLock on the keypad during computer startup. This has to be repeated if the computer is turned off but not when it is just put to sleep. Since I rarely turn off my MAC completely this is not a real problem. I do think Amazon or Toshiba should explain this anomaly. I'm sure that many MAC users would return it in disgust if they did not seek help from google on how to use it. The keypad is useful because wireless MAC keyboards come without a numeric keypad.
Love the extra USB ports! October 31, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Slim and portable, this turned out to be the answer to my prayers. Or at least the answer to my Amazon search query.
I travel with my laptop, and I find that I frequently need a keypad, and this little peripheral fills that need perfectly. The keys are smooth and light, similar to laptop keys but with a better contour. The extra USB ports really make a difference when I have to get a little crazy with plugging things into my computer.
Bottom Line: Exactly what you're looking for, whether you know it or not.
Product works great - very happy October 18, 2008 This product works as expected. I am very happy with the keypad and would definitely purchase again.
Works great September 15, 2008 I bought this to use as a Nethack controller. So far, it works perfectly for me in Vista SP1. I plugged it in and could use it immediately. The extra USB ports are also quite handy, as my laptop only has one on the right side.
